But we are all human beings, and gradually everything is getting something wrong. Perhaps this is called the pursuit of the best, development, exit from the comfort zone. When I finally rested on the ceiling and realized that I was standing still, I wanted to change something. The moment of understanding has come that I love my own business, and not the office to which I am attached 5 days a week, 10 hours a day with lunch at one o’clock as all people do.

They say that when you want something badly, the Universe will contribute to this. It so happened that I became very ill. Efficiency fell, the management met me and I worked now for 6 hours, and then my partner replaced me, which I myself brought to the company. And here begins my way out of the comfort zone. The body has recovered, there is more free time to work on yourself, there is enthusiasm and at the same time, there is fear. What if it doesn’t work out, but what if I can’t do it, and what if I have pink glasses on me ?!

Here, in the office, at least stability, but so what, that no growth and prospects? But the money on time and vacation for three weeks! I hesitated for a long time and then decided to make a good portfolio in parallel (because it was undesirable to take away from the company). At that time, my friend already owned his photo studio, and with pleasure threw off a “leftist” to me, on which I filled skills and replenished my portfolio.

I found some good ones, registered. It was on our site that very evening that the first order fell. My delight knew no bounds! Yes, small, but quick, but the first positive review, it’s so cool, and it stimulates growth! Three months later, I was already in the top 10 in the ranking in my field, and after half a year – the first. Now I am in the top three. I found a reliable regular customer on the exchange and now we have a small team that we develop and grow.

And now, when I have a lot of experience, many situations have been passed, many lessons have been learned, I want to pay attention to the pros and cons that arise in the process of work. And also, share tips when switching to freelance.

  • If you get sick, there is a sick-list, deadlines are no longer your problems. There is a replacement that will not let the company down. (but there were times that it was necessary to go with a temperature of 38.5 – just as a replacement could also fail);

Cons of office work

  • A stable schedule (you need to agree to take time off, leave, you can not oversleep).
  • Lack of daylight (in my case).
  • There is no time for self-development (because all the forces go to work).
  • You can be fired or cut.
  • There may be misunderstandings in the team, too picky authorities (not in my case).
  • Waste of time getting to the office (for someone it is two hours every day) in the heat or in the cold.
  • Constant stress (if it is a service sector).
